Yusra Mardini and her older sister traveled to Europe to become safe from the Syrian war, Yusra and her sister went on this dinghy to Greece. Suddenly the boats engine failed so Yusra being a pro swimmer dived into the ocean with her sister and these two other people saved the 20 other people on board by swimming 3 and a half hours. A year later, Yusra became an Olympian and play in the Rio Olympics for 65 MILLION displaced people around the world. Yusra now meets world leaders like Barack Obama and has received a lot of awards.

ReplyDeleteWell done on writing a good recount about Yursa’s journey. She was very brave, wasn’t she Did you know she is hoping to qualify for the Olympics this year in Tokyo? She is hoping to be able to represent refugees again. Do you like watching the Olympics? I love watching it! I especially like watching gymnastics and diving. But I also enjoy watching any of the New Zealand athletes compete too.
